Molina Waterfalls Park
The park is located in Vakkarola and covers an area of about 80,000 sq.m. The formation of this area occurred in the Cenozoic era (25-30 million years ago) with the appearance of rocks that were thus subjected to the action of atmospheric agents that formed them. The park area includes the last section of the Molina valley at the confluence of the Cesara valley and the Scalucce valley.
This area is characterized by a large amount of water, which has led to the formation of numerous waterfalls and streams flowing near the rocks. The stream flows through the gorge slowly at times, also forming small green ponds, and more violently at other times, creating thought-provoking and thunderous waterfalls.
The natural waterfall park will gift you with several unforgettable hours. Such places are not written about in guidebooks; you have to seek them out yourself. You can only reach this park by car, despite it being 50 km from Verona, 1.5 hours from Lake Garda. The journey to this small town is very beautiful, most of the way passes between mountains, cherry orchards, and vineyards. As soon as you enter the town of Molina, after a few meters you will see a large parking lot, a map of the park, and signs.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the park, and the entire route is a steep descent down narrow streets of the town, which is beautiful, with white stone houses, farmers on tractors, firewood stacked in piles, goats, and chickens – a true Italian village.
Along with the ticket, you will receive a map that marks different routes (the map is in English or Italian).
The longest route, marked in black, is 3.6 km and covers all the waterfalls and panoramic views.
The red route is 2.3 km – covers everything except the grottos and panorama.
The shortest green route – only waterfalls.
The entire route consists of descents and ascents, so good and comfortable shoes are needed.
There are about 20 different waterfalls in the park, all of them not very large, but very beautiful. You can ride a zip line in the park. There are also large romantic swings that take you right into the waterfall.
The views of nature are extraordinary.
The park is open from March to October.
