Tropea, Pizzo, Scilla, Pentidattilo, Bova (conducted by car)
Day 1 – In the morning, departure to Tropea and a tour of the historical center of the city. Lunch at your own discretion or at a restaurant. After lunch, transfer to Pizzo and a tour of the castle where Murat was shot, visiting the church of Our Lady of Piedigrotta, carved into tuff by a group of shipwrecked sailors who miraculously escaped death and were saved on this shore. At the end of the tour, you can taste the famous ‘truffle’ ice cream in the main square of Pizzo. Arrival in the evening at the hotel in Reggio Calabria: dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 – Departure to Scilla for a tour of the fortress and the whimsical neighborhood of Chianalea with its houses rising from the sea. Free lunch or lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, a tour of Reggio Calabria: the cathedral, the bronze warriors from Riace, and a walk along the waterfront, which the poet D’Annunzio called ‘the most beautiful kilometer in Italy.’ An interesting visit is also to the Bergamot Museum – a fruit cultivated exclusively in this area, which is widely used in cooking and cosmetics as citron. Free shopping on the main street of the city. In the evening, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 – In the morning, departure to the deserted city of Pentidattilo, located on a mountain shaped like five fingers, from which it gets its name. Transfer to Bova – a small town of Greek culture, where a tasting lunch based on typical products of Hellenistic culture will be offered. City tour. Return to the hotel in the evening: dinner and overnight stay.
