Excursion to the bohemian district of Barcelona Ribera, former home of sailors and gypsies, with an interesting Chocolate Museum and medieval monuments (the church of Santa Maria del Mar, mansions on Princess and Born streets), as well as to the Ciutadella Park, its history and the most picturesque corners: the Aurora fountain, the Palace of the Three Dragons, the pavilions of the 1888 exhibition.
The gardens at Plaza de Armas were designed by the French architect Jean Forestier, and the cascade of fountains in the center of the garden ensemble was created by the architect Josep Fontserè with the participation of the young Antonio Gaudí. The cascade is crowned with the Triumphal Arch, decorated with sculptural allegorical bas-reliefs.
The park also houses the Barcelona Zoo, which is considered one of the most beautiful and comfortable in Europe.
