Behind the Archaeological Museum – entrance to the Grand Hall of the Marciana Library, 16th century.
The walls and ceiling of the museum are decorated with paintings by Veronese and Tintoretto.
The Correr Museum is rightly considered the best of the main Venetian divine and historical collections. Its interiors were originally designed as the private chambers of Napoleon.
The exhibition, located in 33 rooms on two floors of the New Procuracies, is mainly dedicated to the history of Venice. Here you can see the symbols of the Venetian Republic, portraits, seals, personal belongings of the doges, materials telling about the lavish city ceremonies, maritime maps, navigational instruments, weapons, and banners.
The Picture Gallery occupies 19 rooms on the 3rd floor. Among the early paintings of Venice, attention should be paid to Paolo Veneziano and Lorenzo Veneziano.
