Seville is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and the third most visited by tourists in Spain, after Barcelona and Madrid. The city’s cathedral, the largest in Spain and the third largest in Europe, impresses with its size and grandeur. It is here, in the Cathedral, that Christopher Columbus is buried. Just a few dozen meters from the Cathedral is the Alcázar — the official residence of King Juan Carlos of Spain, and a little further is the so-called Indian Archive, which is based on Columbus’s library.
You will walk through the streets of the Santa Cruz district and arrive at Murillo Gardens, named after the outstanding Seville artist. Right in front of you is the city’s University, located in the building of the former Tobacco Factory. It is here that the events of the famous ‘Carmen’ by Prosper Mérimée took place. Next to the University building is the hotel ‘Alfonso XIII’ – one of the most beautiful buildings in Seville.
Maria Luisa Park directly adjoins the Plaza de España complex, built for the exhibition of Spanish-speaking countries in 1929. Built in the shape of a horseshoe, the Plaza impresses with its size and beauty.
