Sforza Castle – the name of the residences of the Milanese dukes of the Sforza dynasty in Milan and Vigevano. The Milan Castle was originally built in the 14th century as the residence of the Visconti, but was dismantled by a crowd of the uprising after the proclamation of the Ambrosian Republic.
Medieval Market Square – for centuries, court decisions in Milan were made in a place called the Market Square. This medieval square is surrounded by the main public buildings of the Milan city administration.
The Famous Cathedral – Duomo Cathedral (Duomo di Milano) – this is truly a unique architectural monument in the Flamboyant Gothic style. It is a symbol of the Catholic faith for the city’s residents and the country. The Duomo Cathedral, striking in its size and unique blend of architectural styles, is made entirely of white marble.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II – a covered shopping gallery in the center of Milan, one of the first passages in Europe, built between 1865 and 1877.
La Scala Theatre – an opera house built in 1778, a world center of opera culture. The building was constructed on the site of the demolished Gothic church of Santa Maria alla Scala, from which the popular name of the theater originated.
Walk through the Brera district – Milan’s Montmartre – a district of Milan located in the urban area zone 1 – the historical center of the city. The name of the district comes from the medieval Italian word “braida” or “brera,” which traces back to the Lombard “brayda,” meaning “land cleared of trees.”
