The Sigurta Park near Lake Garda (an hour’s drive away). In 2013, the park was recognized as the most picturesque in all of Italy.
Since the 15th century, there has been a estate here that changed many owners, and the park took on its modern appearance only in the second half of the 20th century.
It is very large, it’s better to allocate 2-3 hours for a walk, and if you plan a leisurely rest, then even a whole day.
There are ponds with lilies and fish, a medicinal plant garden.
Children enjoy the petting zoo with deer, sheep, and donkeys, while adults happily wander through the boxwood maze.
The park combines a forest with ancient trees and a garden with many bright flowers. The English lawns with soft grass invite you to run barefoot or settle down for a picnic.
There are also hills that offer views of the surroundings. There are many flowers here that change throughout the warm season: first, daffodils and tulips bloom, then irises, roses, lotuses, and closer to autumn – asters and dahlias.
The owner’s villa can only be viewed from the outside – it is a residential house, and the entrance to it is closed.
To move around the park more quickly, you can rent a bicycle or a golf cart.
A small train runs through the park.
The infrastructure is well thought out: there are benches, drinking water fountains, cafes, and toilets.
A green oasis spread over 60 hectares.
There you will also find 18 ponds with koi carp, a garden with aquatic and medicinal plants, a large oak that is almost 400 years old, and a trunk circumference reaching 6 meters.
The mazes and compositions of shrubs and trees, the amazing variety of flowers: tulips, irises, water lilies, and of course, the 1 km long rose alley will not leave you indifferent.
Sigurta Park-Garden is rightly considered one of the most beautiful parks in the world.
It is open from March to November, except for December 24, April 1, and May 1.
