In Paris, there are two zoos and two aquariums.
The old open-air zoo is located in the Bois De Vincennes. The caged zoo is situated near the Gare d’Austerlitz.
It is located on the grounds of an ancient botanical garden, established even before the Great French Revolution. A paleontology museum has also been built on the grounds of this botanical garden.
Both zoos have unique collections of animals, birds, and reptiles.
In the former museum of colonial art, near the Bois De Vincennes and the zoo, you can visit a unique aquarium featuring fish from various continents, sizes, and species.
In 2008, the aquarium at Trocadéro was reopened – one of the most impressive aquariums in France, with ten-meter-high pools and a wide variety of fish.
